Ireland's Littlest Off License

Tucked away inside J.D. Falvey’s, a traditional Irish Pub in the heart of Killorglin, Co. Kerry, is one of the smallest and most unique Off Licence spaces in Ireland.

The little corner between two doors has always been part of the pub’s character. One door leads upstairs, the other downstairs, and the space in between has served many purposes over the years. Long before mobile phones, it was home to a public phone box.  Later, it housed a cigarette machine. As times changed, so did the use of the space.

Rather than let this quirky corner go to waste, we turned it into something that reflects what we love most: great beer, local character, and a warm welcome. Today, it is proudly known as Ireland’s Littlest Off Licence.

Why Did We Start an Off License?

As great beer enthusiasts, the topic of beer is a constant conversation at the bar counter in J.D. Falvey’s. The phrase, “Do you know what beer I tried that was awesome?” comes up far too often.

When our old cigarette machine was finally on its way out, we started brainstorming what could take its place. We wanted to create something that reflected our love of great beer while adding another unique feature to our traditional Irish Pub in Killorglin, Co. Kerry.

The answer was simple. We transformed the space into Ireland’s Littlest Off Licence, giving us a place to share some of our favourite craft beers, independent breweries, and hidden gems with locals and visitors alike.

What is in Ireland's Littlest Off License

The aim was simple. Stock some of the best craft beer from independent Irish breweries and make it available right here in Killorglin.

Inside our tiny Off Licence, you will find beers from some of our favourite Irish breweries, including Kinnegar (Co. Donegal), West Kerry Brewery (Co. Kerry), Whiplash (Dublin), Wicklow Wolf (Co. Wicklow), 9 White Deer (Co. Cork), Hope Brewing (Dublin), White Hag (Co. Sligo), Third Barrell (Dublin), Bullhouse (Belfast) & McGills (Co. Kerry). We also stock a selection of quality ciders from Stonewell (Co. Cork), MacIvors (Co. Armagh) and Westons (Herefordshire, UK).

As the beer list started to grow, we realised we couldn’t leave out some of our favourite German beers. Alongside our Irish craft beer selection, you’ll also find classics from Bitburger (Bitburg, Germany), Augustiner (Munich, Germany), Veltins (Meschede, Germany)& Früh (Cologne, Germany)

The range changes throughout the year as new releases become available, giving craft beer lovers in Co. Kerry the opportunity to discover something different every time they visit.
