What a day! Falvey’s was buzzing with Canadian spirit as we came together to celebrate Canada Day-ish at Falvey’s — and whether you were born north of the 49th parallel or just joining in the fun, it was an unforgettable day and night full of laughs, sport, and sweet Canadian treats.
A Truly Canadian Crowd Celebrating Canada Day-ish at Falvey's
We were delighted to meet new friends from across the provinces — Newfoundland, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec were all represented! There’s something special about how Canadians abroad find each other! It was also nice to see some of our locals embracing their inner Canadian, like Tim who rocked a Canadian Tuxedo (double denim). However no one’s outfit topped Erik’s who hailed from Newfoundland and now lives in Cork. The combination of his kilt, Canadian hockey jersey and hat that said “Canada is not for sale.
🍩 Sweet Treats and Brave Drinks
What’s Canada Day without a bit of hockey? Our Falvey’s Hockey Challenge drew a crowd and more than a few competitive spirits. The challange was to put a puck in each of the 6 slot on our net as fast as you can. After ALOT of practice our winner was Cian Lyons with a time of 11:75 seconds! Whether you were practicing your wrist shot or cheering from the sidelines, everyone got in on the action — and more than a few rivalries were born (all in good fun, of course!).
🎸 Neil Young at Glastonbury
With Canada Day-ish landing on Saturday June 28th it meant that Neil Young was headlining Glastonbury that night, what a perfect excuse to watch a living legend. It was surreal to hear that iconic voice live from across the ocean, sing “Heart of Gold.”
🏒🍁 Canada vs. USA – 4 Nations Final
in the final Canadian act of the day we showed the 4 Nations Final, with Canada facing off against the USA. We will never tire of watching Conor McDavid slot the winner in overtime. It was great to share such an important game with our Irish friends who we all very impressed at how fast the game is!
Until Next Year…
Canada Day-ish at Falvey’s was more than just a celebration — it was a reminder of the connections we share, wherever we are in the world. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it one for the books. See you next July 1st –ish — same place, same pride, even more maple!
Happy Canada Day, eh?
