On April 12th, which was World Record Store Day, the back room at J.D. Falvey’s was alive with the warm crackle of vinyl, as we hosted a Vinyl Night that brought together music lovers from all walks of life. We want to extend a huge thank you to Tim, our incredible DJ for the evening, whose expertise and passion truly made the night special. Tim generously shared his expansive collection of LPs and 45s, guiding us through a sonic journey that spanned decades and genres
The energy in the room was electric, fueled by everyone who came out and showcased music from fan favourites to some track and artists we’d never heard before. From rock legends like AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin, to the soulful sounds of Millie Jackson, the eclectic beats of The Cars, and the iconic vibes of The Jam and The Tragically Hip — every record spun brought something new and exciting to the table. Not to mention the classic grooves from Prince and The Beat!
It was a joy to see so many familiar faces alongside new ones, all united by a shared love of music and discovery. The variety of tastes on display reminded us why vinyl is such a special format — it invites you to explore and connect with songs in a way digital just can’t match.
We’re already looking forward to the next Vinyl Night and can’t wait to hear what tunes you’ll bring to share. Thanks again to everyone who made the night a hit — here’s to many more evenings of spinning great records, great company, and great memories.
